There is plenty of fun to be had this Autumn/Winter season, and we’ve provided you with all the deets!
From Potter exclusives, laser light festivals, musicals, and theatre, and a little comedy thrown into the mix, Cardiff is in for a very mystical end to the year.
Muggle’s world
First up is the Harry Potter trolley tour; the nine ¾ platform trolley will be in Cardiff Central train station for all you Potterheads to teleport your way to the Muggle world. The trolley is on tour to celebrate the two-decade anniversary of the first Harry Potter film, The Philosopher’s Stone.
The trolley will be at Cardiff’s central train station from Tuesday, 26 October 2021, to Thursday, 28 October 2021.
Eye Cymru
Eye Cymru is a ‘pure cosmic light sorcery,’ meaning a laser light spectacular hosted by Chris Levine and fellow multi-million-selling award-winning performers.
The laser and sound spectacle will be at Cardiff Castle from 14 October 2021 till 31 October 2021.
Festival of the Dead
Festival of the Dead returns with their ‘The Rock Orchestra by Candlelight’ event on 18 September 2021 at the Depot.
The talent show has a second event lined up called ‘Halloween Returns,’ a spooktacular ceremony taking place on 23 October 2021 at VSA Warehouse. The event is described as a ‘unique blend of circus, carnival and chaos.’
The dark arts shows will have live circus artists performing talented moves that will leave you shuddering and a DJ and live band playing everything from rock, indie, bass, DNB, house, and industrial techno music.
If you’re obsessed with anything ‘dark, mystical and deathly,’ this one’s for you. The event has an 18+ age restriction.
Musicals and Theatre
Who doesn’t love a little pantomime?
If you’re after a little romance, we’ve got Beauty and the Beast musical taking place in the Millennium Centre from Thursday, 9 December 2021, till Saturday, 15 January 2022.
Aladdin is also playing in the New Theatre from Saturday, 4 December 2022, till Sunday, 2 January 2022. Actors include one-half of the Chuckle brothers, Paul Chuckle, Stephanie Webber, singer Gareth Gates, Mike Doyle, and Denquar Chupak.
Comedy
Wands at the ready! The Glee Club is putting on a Spontaneous Potter improv show for ages 16+ on 16 February 2021. Tickets are £12 or £10 with a student card.
