This week, we reflect on how we, as entrepreneurs, try to build ourselves and our families alongside our companies.
A business, an income, the perfect job; a loving partner and healthy family, a comforting, warm home, and a lifetime of happiness are all things we strive for in life. But how do we achieve this?
Do we work to live, or do we live to work?
Are we so focused on building a business that we forget about the rest? Have we forgotten about our family and friends? If so, It’s time to take back control and reshape the work-life balance!
Do you know what you want?
Sometimes, the first step is actually thinking and figuring out what you truly want in life. Work-life balance is not always about building the perfect, happy family. Sometimes, it simply means having something else in your life besides work.
Ask yourself, what do you like doing? What do you enjoy the most outside of work? Do you have any hobbies? Do you actually want the perfect, happy family one day?
These questions are not meant to be major life decisions right now, but eventually, you will need to understand where you are going in life to find the balance you need.
If you have a family, do you have a vision for it?
If you aim for the stars with your business and your ideas, why not do that with your family as well? Even though relationships are a natural, human thing, maybe it is not a bad idea to strategize a little with those you already have built. At the end of the day, if you’re trying to achieve balance, you need great time management and planning skills.
Learn how to read your vibe
Whatever you are trying to balance in your life needs to start by understanding the value it has to you, and while you are at it, check the vibe it creates in you because you will be bringing that on to everything else in your life.
If I’m not happy in my professional life then I bring that home Michele Van Tilborg
If we are talking about relationships, of any kind, these require more than one person, so be mindful of what you bring to the table, whatever you’re dealing with at work, and don’t leave there what you will bring with you to any and every interaction. It does take two to Tango!
